Natural de Oeiras, Mosaik pertence à segunda geração de writers nacionais, tendo aderido ao movimento no início dos anos 90.
Foi membro dos PRM (o primeiro crew Lisboeta), fundou os FIVESTAR crew e faz parte, neste momento, dos THUNDERS crew (com Bray, Chure, Klit, Mar e Monster).
É conhecido pelo seu estilo newschool e pelas suas power outlines. A precisão dos seus traços, a limpeza das suas peças e uma caligrafia inovadora (na qual emprega, por vezes, paletes de cores pouco habituais) são características que cimentaram o seu crédito nas ruas e destacaram este writer dos restantes.
À parte o graffiti, é conhecido pela costumização de sneakers e pela colaboração com várias marcas de vestuário.
Entre as suas obras preferidas destaca-se ter pintado um dos pilares da Ponte 25 de Abril.
Qual é o significado do teu tag?
Na verdade, foi apenas uma evolução do anterior. Eu pintava MOS em bombing e para wall of fame era pouco, daí ter acrescentado o AIK, para formar o MOSAIK.
Tens formação em arte?
Não. Sou um mero curioso da mesma e um autodidacta.
Quais são as tuas crews?
Neste momento, pertenço ao THUNDERS CREW.
Quando começou o teu interesse pelo graffiti e quais foram as tuas influências na altura?
Começou por volta de 1992/93, ao ter conhecido um writer/skater canadiano, em Santa Cruz, que andava a fotografar graffiti pela Europa. A seguir, falei com o Youth (que já era meu amigo) que me mostrou o que se passava em Portugal por essa altura.
As minhas influências foram o Youth, Exas, Noke e Wize.
Como era a cena no graffiti quando começaste?
Pequena mas muito intensa. Havia poucos crews e o movimento hip-hop ditava a proximidade das várias vertentes em cada uma das zonas pelo território nacional.
Quais são os teus spots / cidades preferidos?
Para mim qualquer spot é um bom spot. Procuro, principalmente, texturas cruas nas paredes ou ambientes diversificados.
A nível de cidades preferidas, Porto, Lisboa e Olhão. No estrangeiro, felizmente, sempre fui muito bem recebido em todas as cidades em que tive oportunidade para pintar. Mas tenho bastante apreço por Madrid e Barcelona, onde sou super bem tratado.
Wall of fame, Street bombing ou Train bombing?
Todas elas. Obviamente que a minha vida me fez reduzir ou abrandar algumas delas, mas a paixão pelas mesmas continua lá.
Como é o teu processo criativo e onde vais buscar as tuas inspirações?
Eu sempre gostei de desenhar e isso ajudou-me bastante a desenvolver estilos e esquemas cromáticos ao longo do meu percurso enquanto writer.
A mim, tudo me pode inspirar, desde um simples pôr do sol a uma visão da natureza ou, até mesmo, umas simples linhas urbanísticas.
Qual é o teu top 3 de writers portugueses?
Tenho um top 20, temos muitos writers bons em Portugal. Dizer apenas três não faria justiça a essa qualidade.
E de writers estrangeiros?
Os GÉMEOS, FUTURA2000 e, abaixo deles, uma lista de pelo menos outros vinte que acho terem quebrado barreiras estéticas e técnicas no graffiti e que me inspiram.
Pintas com sketch ou freestyle?
Pinto de ambas as formas.
Qual é a tua lata preferida?
Tenho várias e todas elas têm coisas melhores e outras piores. Se me perguntares quais as que utilizo mais... Black, AKA, NBQ.
O que toca na tua playlist quando pintas?
É uma playlist bastante eclética. Diversidade acima de tudo!
Preferes pintar sozinho ou em grupo?
Prefiro pintar em grupo, mas há alturas em que prefiro estar mais solitário nas pinturas.
Com quem gostas de pintar?
Na verdade, gosto de pintar com todos aqueles que sinto transmitirem boas vibrações enquanto pessoas, mas a minha preferência vai, principalmente, para os elementos do meu crew.
Como descreves o panorama atual do graffiti em Portugal?
Muitos e bons bombers e cada vez menos pessoal do wall of fame.
Qual é o teu melhor trabalho?
O meu melhor é sempre aquele que fiz na presente data, olhando sempre para o futuro como uma evolução do presente e uma melhoria do passado.
Quais são os teus planos / projetos futuros?
Only time will tell.
Tens alguma história que queiras partilhar?
Tenho várias, mas vou guardá-las para um podcast futuro sobre graffiti, escrever ia ser demasiado extenso e cansativo.

Born in Oeiras, Mosaik belongs to the second generation of national writers, having joined the movement in the early 90s.
He was a member of the PRM (the first Lisbon crew), founded the FIVESTAR crew and is now part of the THUNDERS crew (with Bray, Chure, Klit, Mar and Monster).
He is known for his newschool style and his power outlines. The precision of his lines, the cleanliness of his pieces and an innovative calligraphy (in which he sometimes uses unusual color pallets) are characteristics that cemented his credit on the streets and set this writer apart from the rest.
Apart from graffiti, it is known for customizing sneakers and collaborating with various clothing brands.
Among his favorite works, he highlights having painted one of the pillars of the 25 de Abril Bridge.
What is the meaning of your tag?
In fact, it was just an evolution of the previous one. I painted MOS in bombing and for wall of fame it was little, hence the addition of AIK, to form MOSAIK.
Do you have art training?
No. I'm just a curious person and self-taught.
When did your interest in graffiti start and what were your influences at the time?

Right now, I belong to THUNDERS CREW.
What are your favorite spots / cities?
For me, any spot is a good spot. I mainly look for raw textures on the walls or diverse environments.
At the level of preferred cities, Porto, Lisbon and Olhão. Abroad, fortunately, I have always been very well received in all the cities where I had the opportunity to paint. But I have a lot of appreciation for Madrid and Barcelona, where I am very well treated.
Wall of fame, Street bombing or Train bombing?
All of them. Obviously my life has made me reduce or slow down some of them, but the passion for them is still there.
How is your creative process and where do you get your inspiration from?
I always liked to draw and that helped me a lot to develop styles and color schemes throughout my career as a writer.
Everything can inspire me, from a simple sunset to a view of nature or even simple urban lines.
Do you paint with sketch or freestyle?
I paint in both ways.
What is your favorite can?
I have several and they all have better and worse things. If you ask me which ones I use the most ... Black, AKA, NBQ.
What is your top 3 of Portuguese writers?
I have a top 20, we have many good writers in Portugal. Saying just three would not do this quality justice.
And foreign writers?
GÉMEOS, FUTURA2000 and, below them, a list of at least twenty others that I think have broken aesthetic and technical barriers in graffiti and that inspire me.
Do you prefer to paint alone or in a group? I prefer to paint in groups, but there are times when I prefer to be more lonely in the paintings. Who do you like to paint with? In fact, I like to paint with everyone I feel transmitting good vibes as people, but my preference goes mainly to the elements of my crew. What do you play in your playlist when you paint? It's a very eclectic playlist. Diversity above all! How do you describe the current landscape of graffiti in Portugal? Lots and good bombers and less staff from the wall of fame.
What is your best job?
My best is always the one I did on the present date, always looking to the future as an evolution of the present and an improvement of the past.
What are your future plans / projects?
Only time will tell.
Do you have a story you want to share?
I have several, but I will save them for a future graffiti podcast, writing would be too long and tiring.
